Your Workspace Username

What the Workspace Username is, the rules it follows, where it appears in your in-app URLs, and how to change it.

ReferenceFor Owners and AdminsUpdated October 1, 2026

Every workspace has a Workspace Username — a short, unique handle that identifies the workspace and appears in your in-app URLs. This page explains the rules and where it is used.

What the Workspace Username is

The Workspace Username is the namespace for your workspace inside the app. Your in-app URLs use it, for example acrosite.com/app/your-handle/..., and it is the reference your team uses for the workspace. It is not your website's address — that is set per project.

The rules

A Workspace Username:

  • is 3 to 30 characters long,
  • uses lowercase letters and numbers only,
  • must start with a letter,
  • has no spaces, hyphens, or underscores, and
  • cannot be a reserved word (such as admin, app, or billing).

When you create a workspace, Acrosite checks availability as you type and can suggest a handle based on the workspace name.

Where to find and change it

You can see and change the Workspace Username at the top of Workspace Settings. Changing it has a short cooldown between changes, so pick a handle you are happy to keep.

Important
Changing the Workspace Username changes your in-app URLs. Update any bookmarks your team uses after a change.

Frequently asked questions

No. The Workspace Username is only used inside the Acrosite app. Your website's address is configured per project and on each Client record.
Yes, from the top of Workspace Settings, with a short cooldown between changes. Because it appears in your in-app URLs, update any saved links afterward.
It may already be taken, may be a reserved word, or may break a rule — usernames must be 3–30 characters, lowercase letters and numbers only, and must start with a letter. Acrosite suggests an available handle when yours is not allowed.
