The Client Reviewer portal

What a Client Reviewer sees and does in their dedicated portal: review the content shared with them for a project, comment, and approve or request changes — nothing else.

GuideFor Client ReviewersUpdated October 1, 2026

The Client Reviewer Portal is a dedicated, review-only space for clients and stakeholders. A Client Reviewer signs in there to review the content shared with them for a project — and nothing else. This page explains the portal for reviewers and the teams who invite them.

Who this is for

Client Reviewers using the portal, and the Owners and Admins who invite them.

Note
The reviewer-facing portal screens are described here from the workspace side and the product's review model. Verify the exact in-portal labels in a live reviewer session before relying on them word-for-word.

How a reviewer gets in

A Client Reviewer is invited to a specific project by email. After they accept the invitation and sign in, they reach the portal, where they only see content that has been shared with them for that project. See Accept a workspace or review invitation.

What a Client Reviewer can do

In the portal, for their assigned project only, a Client Reviewer can:

  • See the content shared with them for review.
  • Read and add client-visible comments.
  • Approve content, or request changes.

That is the whole job. The portal is the primary path for Client Reviewer access.

What the portal shows

  • Overview — how many items are waiting for the reviewer, how many they asked to change, how many they approved, their assigned projects, and the items waiting for a decision.
  • Reviews — every shared item by status (Waiting For Review, Needs Changes, Approved, Resolved, All), with search. Opening an item shows the content as it will read, with Your review beside it: one note, then Approve (the note is optional) or Request Changes (the note is required). The conversation keeps the client-visible comments and the review history.
  • Projects — the projects the reviewer was invited to, with how many items are waiting.
  • Settings — the reviewer's name and email, how review emails work, and their project access. Sign-In & Security (from Settings or the account menu) lets the reviewer add a passkey, an authenticator app and recovery codes, link Google, or change their email, the same way Team Members do in Account Settings.

What a Client Reviewer cannot do

The portal is isolated by design. A Client Reviewer cannot:

  • See other projects or other clients.
  • Access your repository, GitHub Setup, or Deployment Setup.
  • See billing, workspace settings, the team, or your content structure.
  • See internal-only comments — they see only client-visible ones.
Important
Client Reviewer access is project-scoped and review-only. Inviting a reviewer never creates a Team Member or gives workspace dashboard access.

Older review links remain available only as a hash-only fallback; the portal is the primary, account-based path. Your team can regenerate a legacy link for an item if needed, but new reviewers should use the portal.

Frequently asked questions

No. A Client Reviewer accepts a project-level invitation and works only from the Client Reviewer Portal. They are not a Team Member and do not get workspace dashboard, GitHub, or billing access.
No. The portal is isolated to the single project a reviewer was invited to. They cannot see other projects, your repository, your team, or your billing.
The Client Reviewer Portal is the primary, account-based way to review. Legacy review links are an older fallback that is kept hash-only, so a raw link cannot be recovered or copied later. New reviewers should use the portal.
