What are Clients?

Clients are an optional way to group website projects in a workspace. Learn when to use them and how they relate to projects.

OverviewFor Owners and AdminsUpdated June 7, 2026

A Client is an optional record that represents one of your customers or brands. Clients let you group related website projects so projects, reviewers, and publishing work stay easy to scan. This page explains when to use them.

What a Client is

A Client is a simple record in your workspace with a name, an optional website, a contact email, and notes. Projects can be linked to a Client, which groups them under that customer or brand. A Client can have several projects, or none yet.

Clients are an organizational convenience — they are most useful for agencies running sites for multiple customers. If you manage a single site, you may not need Clients at all.

Client status

Each Client has a status so you can keep your list tidy:

  • Active — a current client you are working with.
  • Paused — temporarily inactive, kept for reference.
  • Archived — no longer active, moved out of the default view.

The Clients list lets you filter by All, Active, Paused, or Archived.

Clients and projects

A project may be linked to a Client or left unlinked — linking is always optional. Linking does not change how a project publishes; it only groups the project for organization. You set the link when you create a project or later from Project Settings.
