Invite a Client Reviewer
Invite a client to review and approve content for a specific project, without giving them workspace, GitHub, or billing access.
A Client Reviewer is a review-only stakeholder — usually your client — who can approve content for a specific project. They work from a dedicated client portal and never get workspace, GitHub, or billing access. This guide invites one.
Who this is for
Workspace Owners and Admins, who can invite Client Reviewers. Client Reviewers are perfect for agencies who want a client to sign off on content without touching the rest of the workspace.
Before you start
- You have created the project the reviewer will work on. See Create your first project.
- You have the reviewer's email address.
- The project has room within your plan's Client Reviewer limit.
Send the invitation
- Open your workspace and go to Team, then the Client Reviewers view.
- Choose Invite Client Reviewer.
- Choose the Project they will review. Each project shows how many Client Reviewers it has used out of its limit.
- Enter the reviewer's Email, and optionally their First Name and Last Name.
- Select Send Invitation.
Acrosite emails the reviewer an invitation. When they accept, they join as a Client Reviewer for that project only.
What a Client Reviewer can do
From their client portal, a Client Reviewer can, for their assigned project only:
- See content that has been shared for review.
- Add comments that your team can see.
- Approve content, or request changes.
They cannot see other projects, your repository, billing, team settings, or content structure — they are isolated to reviewing what you share.
What happens next
When you submit content for review, the assigned Client Reviewer is notified and can act from their portal. Their approvals and comments appear alongside your team's in the review panel. See Understand content statuses for how review fits into publishing.
Troubleshooting
- I cannot invite a Client Reviewer. Only Owners and Admins can, and you need at least one project.
- The project is at its limit. Each project has a Client Reviewer limit based on your plan. Remove an inactive reviewer or upgrade. See Billing, trial, and plan limits.
- They did not get the email. Ask them to check spam, then resend the invitation.
- I want them to help edit, not just review. That is a Team Member, not a Client Reviewer.
