Create a Post

Create a Post, write the body in the block or source editor, add an excerpt and SEO details, save a draft, and submit it for review.

GuideFor Editors and AuthorsUpdated June 7, 2026

Posts are recurring, dated content such as blog articles, news, and updates. This guide creates a Post, writes the body, adds SEO details, and moves it into review.

Who this is for

Editors and Authors who create content. Any Team Member with content access can create and edit Posts.

Before you start

  • You have a project. See Create your first project.
  • To publish later, the project has GitHub and a deployment trigger configured.

Create the Post

  1. Open your project and go to Posts.
  2. Choose Add Content to open the editor.
  3. Enter a Title. Acrosite generates a Slug from the title; you can edit it, and Acrosite checks that it is available.
  4. Write the Body. The editor has two modes you can switch between:
  • Block Editor — a visual editor for text, headings, lists, and images.
  • Source — raw Markdown, if you prefer to write it directly.
  1. Add an Excerpt *(optional)* — a short summary used in listings and as a default meta description.

To add an image to the body, use Add Content inside the editor to open the media picker. See Upload images.

Posts can include a featured image and search metadata:

  • Featured image — choose Choose Published Media to pick from your Media Library, or Image From URL. You can set alt text, a caption, width, and alignment.
  • SEO Title, Meta Description, and Canonical URL *(all optional)* — control how the Post appears in search results and social previews.
Note
If you fill in Custom Fields for this content type, complete them here too. See Add Custom Fields.

Save and submit for review

When you are ready, choose Save Draft. The Post is saved with the status Draft.

To move it forward, use the review panel:

  1. Choose Submit For Review. The status changes to In Review.
  2. A reviewer adds comments, then either approves the Post or requests changes.
  3. Once approved, the Post can be scheduled or published.

See Understand content statuses for how each status works.

What happens next

An approved Post is ready to publish. You can schedule it for a future time, or publish it immediately. On publish, Acrosite commits the Post as a Markdown file to your repository and triggers a redeploy.

Troubleshooting

  • Save Draft is disabled. Check that the Title is filled in and the Slug is valid and available; the editor blocks saving until they are.
  • I cannot submit for review. Your role may not allow it, or the Post may already be in review. See Invite a Team Member for roles.
  • My image will not insert. Confirm it uploaded to the Media Library first. See Upload images.
