What to do at a plan limit

When a counter reads At Limit and an action is blocked, your plan limit was reached. Here is how to free capacity or raise the limit.

TroubleshootingFor OwnersUpdated October 1, 2026

When a counter on your Billing page reads At Limit and an action is blocked, you have reached one of your plan's limits. This guide shows how to free capacity or raise the limit.

Find which limit

Open your workspace and go to Billing. Plan Usage shows each plan counter against its limit — Projects, Team Members, Custom Content Types, active scheduled items, published items this month, and staged media — and its bar turns red from 90% of the limit. Client Reviewers per project is a per-project cap listed under Plan Limits. See Usage and plan limits.

Fix it

You have two options:

  1. Free capacity — remove what you no longer need so the counter drops below its limit. For example, remove an unused project, cancel a scheduled item, remove an inactive Team Member, or clear orphaned staged media.
  2. Upgrade your plan — move to a plan with higher limits. See Upgrade your workspace plan.

Limits that reset

Some limits are per billing period — for example published items in a month. These reset at the start of the next period, so publishing may resume then without any change. Counters like Projects or Team Members are not periodic; you free them by removing items or by upgrading.

Note
When publishing is blocked by a limit, finishing it usually means raising the limit or waiting for a periodic reset — not a bug. The Billing page shows the exact counter.

Frequently asked questions

Plan Usage on the Billing page shows every plan counter against its limit, so you can see which one is full and what to free or upgrade.
Limits measured per month, like published items, reset at the start of your next billing period. Capacity limits like Projects or Team Members do not reset — free them by removing items or by upgrading.
Not always. If you can free capacity — remove unused items — you stay on your current plan. Upgrade when you genuinely need higher limits.
