Getting started with Acrosite
Set up Acrosite end to end: create a workspace, add a project, connect GitHub, choose a deployment trigger, and publish your first content item.
Acrosite is a Git-backed content platform. Your team writes in a clean dashboard, and Acrosite commits the content to your website's GitHub repository as Markdown, then triggers your site to redeploy. This guide takes you from sign up to your first published content item.
Who this is for
This is for the person setting up Acrosite for the first time — usually the workspace owner. You do not need to be a developer, but connecting GitHub does require someone who can install a GitHub App on the repository.
Before you start
You will move faster if you have these ready:
- An Acrosite account (sign up at the Start Free Trial link).
- A GitHub repository that already builds and deploys your website.
- Permission to install a GitHub App on that repository's account or organization.
- The branch Acrosite should write to, such as
main.
The setup path
Most teams finish setup in a single session. Work through these steps in order — each one has its own detailed guide linked below.
- Create your workspace and choose a Workspace Username.
- Add your first project. One project represents one website.
- Connect GitHub: install the Acrosite GitHub App, then choose the repository and branch.
- Configure a deployment trigger so your site redeploys after each publish, or choose manual deployment.
- Create a Post or Page and write the body in the editor.
- Submit the content for review and approve it.
- Schedule it for later, or choose Publish Now.
- Open Publish Logs to confirm the commit and deployment trigger.
What happens next
When content publishes, Acrosite commits a Markdown file to your repository on the branch you selected, commits any images the content uses, and sends your deployment trigger so your hosting provider rebuilds the site. Every attempt is recorded in Publish Logs, and each deployment trigger is recorded in Deployment Logs.
