Submit content for review

Send a draft into review with Submit For Review so Team Members and assigned Client Reviewers can comment, approve, or request changes.

GuideFor Editors and AuthorsUpdated June 8, 2026

When a draft is ready for feedback, you send it into review with Submit For Review. This guide covers submitting a draft and what happens next.

Who this is for

Editors and Authors, who write content and submit it for review.

Before you start

  • Your content is a Draft and the title, slug, and body are in good shape.
  • You know who needs to review it — your team, an assigned Client Reviewer, or both.

Submit a draft

  1. Open the content item in the editor.
  2. Save your latest changes with Save Draft (the editor saves manually; there is no autosave).
  3. In the review actions for the item, choose Submit For Review.

The item moves to the In Review status. While it is In Review, the editor is read-only, so the content does not change underneath reviewers while they read it.

Note
Submit, request changes, and approve are role- and status-aware — each action is available only when the current status and your role allow that transition.

What reviewers see

Once submitted, the item appears in the project's Review Queue. Team Members can read it and comment, and any assigned Client Reviewers can review it in their portal. Reviewers then approve or request changes.

After you submit

  • If a reviewer requests changes, the item moves to Needs Changes. Revise it and submit again.
  • If a reviewer approves it, the item becomes Approved and is ready to schedule or publish.
Tip
Add an internal comment when you submit to tell reviewers what changed or what you want them to focus on. See Leave review comments.
